Singapore ranks among world’s top five cities for tax efficiency, wealth preservation, and future readiness
In the Wealth Preservation Cities Index (2015– 2025), Singapore places fifth, trailing its Swiss and American peers, involving Zug, Hong Kong, Basel, and San Francisco. The report credits Singapore’s strength to inflation, currency durability, and strong asset efficiency– specifically in real estate and equities– as key factors underpinning its long-term wealth security. It is the second-highest placed Asian city, after Hong Kong.
Singapore also rates 3rd in the Smart & Sustainable Cities Index (SSCI), making it the only international monetary hub to appear in the top 5. This index measures electronic facilities, climate resilience, and political stability– the core pillars of future assets preservation. Singapore stands out for its bold climate action and electronic development, with the Green Strategy 2030 and Smart Nation campaigns such as Singpass, biometric borders, and a nationwide AI strategy, all secured by reliable administration.
This acknowledgment aligns with broader trends. Singapore continues to attract wealth migration from India, the UK, and Southeast Asia.
In the Tax Friendly Cities Index, Singapore places third worldwide, behind Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Whilst it does not offer zero tax, the city-state is recognised for its moderate yet stable personal and company tax fees, the absence of capital gains and inheritance tax, and among the world’s most extensive networks of dual tax obligation treaties. What sets Singapore apart is not tax obligation tolerance but a fiscally sensible, clear program that promotes long-lasting trust.
” Singapore has become what brand-new wealth is really seeking: consistency in law, clarity in policy, credibility in vision, and a dedication to climate-conscious development,” claims Nirbhay Handa, Chief Executive Officer of Multipolitan. “As other markets expand more reactive or fragmented, Singapore remains to provide something increasingly rare– predictability.”
In the newly released Wealth Report 2025: The Taxed Generation by global mobility platform Multipolitan, Singapore is the only city around the world to secure a top-five position throughout all three of the firm’s proprietary indices: tax favourability, wealth security, and future preparedness.
Meanwhile, the city-state’s climate-forward investments– including flood support systems and clean infrastructure– further reinforce its appeal as a secure harbour for both households and capital.
The release of The Taxed Generation comes at a turning point. With brand-new international tax obligation structures, such as OECD’s BEPS 2.0 and the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), improving the international wealth landscape, Singapore’s measured, forward-looking technique stands in plain comparison to the unpredictability clouding many traditional wealth territories.
The information analyzed 164 territories to identify where globally mobile households and financiers can most confidently protect and develop their wealth amidst shifting tax codes, geopolitical volatility, and mounting climate dangers. Urban areas were rated on tax levels, capital defense, long-term risk management, and strategic preparation support, and Singapore checked out every box.
According to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the figure of Single Family Offices awarded tax rewards surged from 400 at end‑2020 to over 2,000 by end‑2024, utilizing around 2,200 locals. This development reflects Singapore’s regulatory integrity, political balance, and commitment to continued wealth conservation.
